Forex Grid Trading

Unusual as it is, the Forex grid trading system still entices many traders to come and give it a try. Why? Well, this is because of the significant rewards that one could get if they were able to do it properly. Simply put, buying and selling the same currency as a means of creating a hedge isn’t the easiest thing in the world to accomplish. Not to mention the fact that if you have no idea what you’re doing, it can also be a very high risk investment. Now, there are many different things that a trader would require if they are intent on giving this type of trading a try. The first thing you’ll need is a broker’s account that would allow the different types of transactions. However, this can be a bit tricky in some places of the world that actually prohibits traders from having to buy and sell transactions open at the same time. This also extends to their ability to place target orders and other entry which would activate automatically at predetermined price levels.

Once you get the account, there is another challenge to overcome. This would be your own mindset and combating boredom. Forex traders or day traders very rarely allow any deals to be active beyond a specific number of days. However, when it comes to Forex grid trading, you would need to make use of relatively large size grids which are typically around 150 or 400 pips as this can help lower any risks. However this means that this grid system might take up to a week before it triggers a transaction and a month after that before you can get a result. As you can see, if you’re used to doing things quickly and efficiently then the waiting period might make you want to simply lose interest. Just do not make the mistake of reducing your grid’s size in order to shorten the waiting time because doing that can increase the risk level. So there you have it, just some of the things that every trader must know about Forex grid trading before giving it a try. Remember, do your research well so you’ll be prepared for any challenges that lie ahead.

Getting right system will give you the opportunity to generate regular income from Forex.

Paris Hilton mocks John McCain presidential ad

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

American celebutante and businesswoman Paris Hilton has bashed a recent presidential campaign ad by 2008 U.S. presidential hopeful John McCain in which he compared his rival Barack Obama to celebrities such as Hilton and Britney Spears. In McCain’s TV ad, it was stated that Obama was “the biggest celebrity in the world.”

Hilton recorded and uploaded a video to comedy website Funny or Die, in which she mocked McCain by calling him a “wrinkly white-haired guy.”

“Hey America. I am Paris Hilton, and I am a celebrity too,” she states at the beginning of the video, but not before images of the Star Wars character Yoda and the cast of The Golden Girls are paraded across the screen apparently comparing the characters to McCain.

“Only I am not from the olden days, and I am not promising change like ‘that other guy’. I’m just hot,” remarked Hilton, adding, “I guess I am running for president,” since McCain’s TV ad showed her.

McCain’s advertisement, released early this week, states, “Is the biggest celebrity in the world ready to help your family?” According to the Boston Globe and video displayed on its website, the narrator then points out that “the real Obama promises higher taxes, more government spending. So, fewer jobs.”

Bill Burton, a spokesman for Obama, responded to the ad: “Is the biggest proponent of George Bush’s tired, failed policies ready to bring about change? Another day brings another dishonest attack from John McCain. While Senator McCain knows that Senator Obama has proposed cutting taxes for 95% of American families, what he’s not telling us is that he wants to give $4 billion in tax breaks to the oil companies, continue giving tax breaks to corporations that ship our job overseas, and provide no direct tax relief for more than 100 million middle-class families.”

Hilton appears in good spirits in her video and even thanks McCain for endorsing her. “So thanks for the endorsement white-haired dude. And I want America to know, that I am like totally ready to lead.”

5 Ways To Improve Hr Information Security

For ages, cyber security has been the responsibility of the IT department alone, as they are the ones who install all the firewall and anti-virus software, and take other necessary measures. However, as they say ‘desperate times need desperate measures’, so today when cybersecurity is a fast growing threat like no other, not just the IS department, but the entire organization as a whole, needs to take steps to curb it and safeguard their company information. The Human Resource department is one of the departments in an organization that holds the largest volumes of sensitive information – be it confidential details about the organization or sensitive information about the employees. So, what are the steps the Human Resource department can take in order to improve the security of the sensitive information it holds? Investing in a new age software is one of them. Digital HRMS is one such advanced Human Resource software and Beehive HRMS is another. The following are 5 highly effective ways to boost HR information security.

1] Increased Awareness of Cybersecurity Basics

Now, this is the very first step towards ensuring optimum HR information security. Unless and until the Human Resource department professionals are not aware of the Dos and Don’ts of cybersecurity protocols, there is little they can do to prevent cyber-attacks. Hence, the department should begin with learning about the Cyber Security essentials, the rules governing user access, security measures regarding the web and data transfers, and more. Once the HR is aware, the next step is to spread this awareness among the employees of the organization. Experts recommend that cybersecurity training should be a part of the onboarding process, so employees know everything they should know, right from day one.

2] Implementation of Automation

With a manual paper-based system for managing sensitive employee information in place, controlling access to Human Resource information is next to impossible. Hence, automation of the processes of the department can prove to be huge step towards successful implementation of HR information security. A HRMS software is what organizations need to automate all the processes and the software have built-in data security measures to protect access to and violation of sensitive employee information.

3] Seamless Collaboration with the IT Department

Seamless collaboration with the IT department is necessary to ensure improved security of HR information. What the departments need to do is coordinate with the IT department to learn about the latest updates required in the software they use, as well the latest security patches rolled out, etc. The IS department can find the solutions, but implementing them successfully rests entirely with the employees of the department, and this applies to the Human Resource department as well.

4] Framing the Right Set of HR Policies

The journey towards highly secure environment begins with the right set of policies, and when it comes to the HR information security, there is the need to have the right set of HR policies in place. The Human Resources department of an organization should have a policy that clearly defines the requirements in regards to access rights and revoking them as and when required. There is also the need to review the policies at regular intervals and implement strict rules associated with passwords. There should be a defined set of guidelines to set a password, to ensure nobody sets a weak password, which may turn into a vulnerability. There should also be policies regarding BYOD and the fast emerging phenomenon of enterprise mobility.

5] Implementing Steps Necessary for Highly Effective Monitoring

In addition to creating awareness and implementing security measures, there is also the need for effective monitoring at all times to prevent breach of security. To ensure complete HR information security, it is essential to monitor the information, to be able to detect vulnerabilities and potential risks at an early stage. In addition to that, organizations should have an emergency plan to take things under control, in case a vulnerability, virus or malware is detected.

Conclusion:

In addition to the steps mentioned above, there is also the need to understand and adhere to compliance guidelines, in order to ensure optimum HR information security. It is important to understand that growing cybersecurity threats is a reality and organizations should make it a priority to implement security measures to curb it.

Deadly fire below US President’s Trump Tower residence

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

On Saturday, the Trump Tower, in Midtown, New York City, caught fire shortly before 18:00 EST (2200 UTC) on the 50th floor, claiming the life of a 67-year-old resident, Todd Brassner, who lived in apartment 50C. All other residents were evacuated without incident. During the fire, six firefighters received non-life-threatening burns and other minor injuries. Neither US President Donald Trump nor the First Family were in the building at the time of the fire.

The high-end Fifth Avenue address is the personal residence of President Donald Trump, whose family occupies the top three stories of the 58-story building. The US Secret Service maintains a constant security presence inside the building with the New York City Police Department guarding a hard perimeter, intended to stop vehicular attacks, and a soft perimeter, intended for on-foot attacks.

The four-alarm fire required 200 firemen, extra police, and paramedics. At 20:00 EST (0000 UTC Sunday), the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) declared the fire was under control. Trump tweeted, “Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU!” This is the second fire at Trump Tower since the election; previously on January 8, a fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in a cooling tower on the roof. Three FDNY firefighters received minor injuries, and all residents and office workers evacuated without incident on that occasion.

Trump Tower provides a number of unique problems never before encountered by the Secret Service. Never has a US President’s personal residence been inside a skyscraper or in a densely populated area like Midtown. The security measures have disrupted vehicular and pedestrian traffic requiring time consuming detours and delaying emergency response.

The New York Fire Code did not mandate sprinkler systems at the time Trump Tower was built in 1983, which might have reduced the size and severity of the fire had they been present. The 50th-floor apartment was, according to FDNY Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro, “[T]he apartment was virtually, entirely on fire.” The Secret Service monitors all the fire alarms in the building but it took time to find the source of the thick black smoke emanating from the fire. Secret Service Agents escorted the firefighters throughout the building, including the Trump residence.

Brassner, the sole casualty, was unconscious when firefighters pulled him out of apartment 50C. He was transported to Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital. Originally listed as critical, he was pronounced dead sometime during the night. Brassner, guitar collector, was acquainted with artist Andy Warhol and was acknowledged in Warhol’s 1989 autobiography, The Andy Warhol Diaries. The cause of the fire is unknown, with investigations into Brassner’s death and the emergency response ongoing. Currently, the Secret Service leads the investigation.

A Brief Introduction To The Circulatory And Integumentary System

By David H. Urmann

The integumentary and circulatory systems have specific functions significant to the human body. The body systems work hand in hand for a person to function normally, healthy and strong.

Integumentary System

The integumentary system is composed of various organs that defend the body from injury or damage. It involves the skin as well as its appendages such as nails, hairs and scales. This system has a wide variety of functions, mainly to protect and cushion the deeper tissue, regulate the temperature and excrete wastes.

In humans, this system additionally gives a vitamin D mixture. It is the biggest organ system. It informs, protects, separates and distinguishes the animal with regard to its surroundings. There are many possible diseases and injuries to the human integumentary system. Possible diseases and injuries include blister, sunburn, rash, infection, skin cancer, athlete’s foot, albinism and acne.

Functions

The integumentary system has many roles in homeostasis. The entire body systems work interdependently to sustain the internal conditions necessary for the body to keep normal and healthy. The skin has significant tasks of protecting the body. In addition, the skin acts as the body’s first protection against temperature changes, infections or other challenges to homeostasis.

The primary function include storing vitamin D, water and fat as well as generating vitamin D through exposure to ultraviolet light along with helping excrete waste materials through perspiration. The functions also include protecting the internal organs and tissues of our body as well as protecting the body from dehydration.

Layers

The top layer of skin is composed of epithelial cells and its main task is for defense. Structurally, it is made up of ‘keratinized stratified squamous elium’ that consists of 4 different kinds of cells such as melanocytes, keratinocytes, Langerhans’ cells and Merkel cells.

Most of the epidermis is keratinocyte that produces keratin. The keratin is a great protein, which aids in protection. Many dead keratinocytes rub off daily and a new epidermis emerges for approximately 25 up to 45 days. The melanocyte creates melanin, a substance that gives the skin its color.

The epidermis contains different kinds of cells such as squamous cells and basal cells. The squqamous cells flaking cells on the surface of the skin and basal cells are round cells.

The sub dermis is a layer of tissue underneath the dermis. The subdermis is mostly composed of adipose tissue and areolar connective tissue. Its physiological purposes include aiding in the anchoring of the skin, insulation and the storage of energy. The subdermis cushions the underlying body for additional protection against trauma.

Circulatory System

Circulatory system is an organ system, which moves wastes, nutrients and gases from and to the cells in order to help fight viruses or diseases. It also helps stabilize pH and body temperature to maintain homeostasis. The system can be seen as the blood distribution network but several people consider this system as composed of lymphatic system that distributes lymph and cardiovascular system that distributes the blood.

The major components of the human circulatory system are the blood vessels, the heart and the blood. The circulatory system includes the systemic circulation, a loop throughout the rest of the body that provides oxygenated plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. The Circulatory System also includes pulmonary circulation, a loop throughout the lungs where blood is oxygenated. The digestive system also works with this system to provide nutrients the system needs to keep the heart pumping.

The two kinds of fluids move throughout the circulatory system are the lymph and heart. The lymph node, lymph vessels and lymph form the lymphatic system. The heart, blood vessels and blood form the cardiovascular system. The lymphatic system and cardiovascular system cooperatively make up the circulatory system.

Local council in Australia rejects McDonald’s development plan

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

The development application for a McDonald’s restaurant at Minyama, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in Australia, has been rejected by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

“We knocked back a Hungry Jack’s on Nicklin Way because of the nuisance code,” said divisional councilor Chris Thompson. “We already have a 24-hour McDonald’s at Mooloolaba, only one kilometre away, and there are already [anti-social] issues at that site.”

Local residents previously vowed to fight any McDonald’s development at the proposed site due to the risk of anti-social behavior. Protest group spokesman John Meyer-Gleaves was “over the moon”.

“It’s not often you knock Maccas [McDonald’s] over,” he said.

Mayor Bob Abbot said Minyama was in some ways more suitable than Mooloolaba. However, he was concerned about the proximity to a residential estate.

The rejection is expected to be ratified at an ordinary meeting of the council on Thursday.

“It needs to be endorsed or ratified by council at its ordinary meeting on Thursday and then it will become a statutory decision of council,” Chris Thompson said. “I’m reasonably pleased with the outcome.”

Vestas protesters sacked with immediate effect

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Eleven of the 25 workers at the Vestas factory in Newport, Isle of Wight, England who have been carrying out a sit-in since Monday July 20 have been sacked with immediate effect.

According to one of the protesters known as “Mike”, the occupiers were given their dismissal notices concealed under slices of their evening meal of pizza. The company said that the protesters have had ample opportunity to air their point of view, and had no choice but to sack eleven of the twenty five workers that they had positively identified; and that given that the fact that the action constituted a “fundamental breach” of trust, that the eleven would not be entitled to redundancy packages. A press release from the company said that Vestas “saw no other choice than to dismiss the 11 employees, who the company has positively identified as the employees currently participating in the occupation of the factory.”

The protesters remained upbeat, vowing to continue their occupation and have called upon the UK government to save the 625 jobs and to nationalise the Danish owned factory. Occupier Ian Terry told the BBC that if the occupiers are forced out, they plan to leave the building “peacefully”.

Vestas management were dealt a setback today in ending the occupation as Newport County Court ruled that the papers accusing the occupiers of aggravate trespass and requiring they surrender the office they occupy by July 29 were improperly served. The case has been adjourned until Tuesday August 4. In court, Judge Graham White said he was “distinctly uncomfortable” with what he perceived as Vestas’ effort to “get around the rules” in retaking the factory from the occupiers.

Legal representation for the Vestas workers had been offered by Bob Crow, secretary of the RMT trade union. Crow has pledged the “full solidarity” of the RMT and seven other unions with the workers occupying the plant.

Vestas management has also been providing the occupiers with hot meals in an apparent response to Crow’s announcement, made on July 24, that the RMT was planning on airlifting food into the factory by helicopter. Crow is meeting today with Ed Miliband, the Environment Minister.

Earlier in the week, Miliband pledged £6 million in funding to an expansion of Vestas’ Isle of Wight research and development centre, which currently employs 110 workers and could, said the Minister, be expanded to employ 40 more.

Rallies continued throughout the week in support of the Vestas occupiers. Since the occupation began, the Vestas workers have received declarations of support and solidarity from a wide swathe of the British left, including but not limited to: political parties Green Party, Respect, the Socialist Party, the Socialist Workers Party, the Alliance for Workers Liberty, and the Communist Party of Britain; the TUCG group, which brings together the BFAWU, FBU, NAPO, NUJ, PCS, POA, RMT, and URTU; and environmental groups Greenpeace, the Campaign against Climate Change, Climate Camp, and Workers’ Climate Action, who claims credit for initiating the campaign to occupy the factory. Attendees of the Big Green Gathering, a large annual environmentalist rally which was due to take place starting today but was suddenly canceled on Sunday, are being encouraged to go to the Isle of Wight and take part in support rallies for Vestas instead.

Speaking to Wikinews about the “redgreen” coalition supporting the occupation, a spokesman for the Alliance for Workers’ Liberty said: “We think this struggle is important on at least three grounds — it is central to the struggle for jobs, it is central to the struggle for the environment, and it is central to the struggle for rebuilding the labour movement.”

Photographs shared with Wikinews by the occupiers show the occupiers, mostly young men, talking, carrying out everyday tasks, and keeping in touch with the outside world via mobile phones. The use of mobile telephones in the Vestas occupation has given the press remarkable access to the occupiers and provided an effective platform for relaying their demands and feelings to the media. In contrast, Vestas’s designated media contact for the United Kingdom is on vacation. Attempts to reach Vestas Newport factory manager Patrick Weir, whom a Vestas representative at the company’s Danish headquarters stated was handling press inquiries regarding the occupation, received no reply.

Vestas plans to close the factory on July 31, citing the difficulties of obtaining planning permission for wind farms in the United Kingdom. All blades manufactured at Vestas’ Newport plant are sent to the United States. 1900 employees of the company in Northern Europe face job losses, 625 of them in Vestas’s plants in the south of England.

The Onion: An interview with ‘America’s Finest News Source’

Sunday, November 25, 2007

Despite the hopes of many University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) students, The Onion was not named after their student center. “People always ask questions about where the name The Onion came from,” said President Sean Mills in an interview with David Shankbone, “and when I recently asked Tim Keck, who was one of the founders, he told me the name—I’ve never heard this story about ‘see you at the un-yun’—he said it was literally that his Uncle said he should call it The Onion when he saw him and Chris Johnson eating an onion sandwich. They had literally just cut up the onion and put it on bread.” According to Editorial Manager Chet Clem, their food budget was so low when they started the paper that they were down to white bread and onions.

Long before The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, Heck and Johnson envisioned a publication that would parody the news—and news reporting—when they were students at UW in 1988. Since its inception, The Onion has become a veritable news parody empire, with a print edition, a website that drew 5,000,000 unique visitors in the month of October, personal ads, a 24 hour news network, podcasts, and a recently launched world atlas called Our Dumb World. Al Gore and General Tommy Franks casually rattle off their favorite headlines (Gore’s was when The Onion reported he and Tipper were having the best sex of their lives after his 2000 Electoral College defeat). Many of their writers have gone on to wield great influence on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert‘s news parody shows.

And we are sorry to break the news to all you amateur headline writers: your submissions do not even get read.

Below is David Shankbone’s interview with Chet Clem and Sean Mills about the news empire that has become The Onion.
