Audio Expert A Music Organizer Software That Leads To A Straight &Amp; Clean Media Library

AudioExpert – A music organizer software that leads to a straight & clean media library

by

Ulrich Decker

This easy-to-use music organizer software guides you through the process of getting your music files in a well-ordered and clean state. This article outlines the three steps so you can get an idea of AudioExpert\’s capabilities.

A screenshot of AudioExpert\’s mainform can be found at http://www.udse.de/audioxp/img/en/mainform.png

Step 1 – Import

Before you can start your work with AudioExpert, you will have to import your musicfiles. You can easily import songs from different locations or external drives. AudioExpert also lets you import your iTunes media library.

Unlike other tools, AudioExpert will start the cleanup process already at this point: Duplicate songs will be detected and the version with the best quality will be preselected. The parameterizable, fuzzy matching engine will detect minor misstypings and puts songs e.g. of \”Marillion\” and \”Marilion\” into the same node. Of course, you can review the found duplicates right after the import process.

Step 2 – Cleanup

After the import process, the imported files are shown hierarchically so you can easily rearrange songs, albums or artists. Please note: AudioExpert shows a preview of how your files will look like whenever you decide to apply the changes (see below). The files will not be changed immediately while editing!

It is possible to reassign songs or albums using the drag & drop feature: The ID-tags for artist and/or album will automatically updated based on the place where you drop the items. Whenever you rename an artist or album, all songs of this artist/album will be updated and you will keep the same notation everywhere.

The inplace editor allows editing the most common tags directly in the listview. A mass-updates for manually selected tracks is available, too.

For even more complex tasks, AudioExpert provides a large toolset containing e.g.:

– A powerful autotagging feature that identifies even completely untagged files

– A mass-update function using predefined regular expressions. Skilled users can define their own expressions, of course.

– Normalizing the loudness of MP3 or OGG files using ReplayGain or MP3Gain

– Searching album covers and lyrics (via amazon or google)

– Searching for erroneous musicfiles

– Adjusting the notation (case sensitiveness) for artist, album and songname

– Finding duplicates using an acoustical fingerprint or the md5-checksum of the audiopart

– Aligning artists and albums with MusicBrainz

– Importing musicfiles from CD and convert the e.g. to MP3

– Converting codepages or wrongly UTF8-encoded texts.

Step 3 – Committing changes

If you are satisfied with your work, it\’s time to apply the changes to the files. AudioExpert can not only adjust the ID-tags of the files. It can also update the filenames using user-defined format-strings. And it can move or copy your files to the new location and structure. The folder-properties-dialog allows you to define the structure for each folder separately.

If you have also imported your playlists, AudioExpert will update the playlists so they will still work even if the files were renamed or moved.

In addition, you can export your changes back to your iTunes media library!

What\’s next?

Besides of the mentioned features, AudioExpert is a powerful music player and playlist creator. The high-performance search dialog (works fast even with 200,000+ files) helps you finding your files.

Curious? You can download the Free-Edition of AudioExpert at http://www.udse.de/

Ulrich Decker develops the music organizer software AudioExpert since 2007. The purpose of AudioExpert is to manage, clean-up and sort even large or disrupted music archives.

Owner and manager of Moroccan factory arrested over 55-fatality fire

Sunday, April 27, 2008

Police have arrested the owner of a mattress factory in Hay Hassini, Casablanca, Morocco which burned down in a disaster that claimed 55 lives. His son, who was the factory’s manager, was also arrested.

Those killed — 35 of whom were women — were trapped inside by locked fire exits, which were barricaded to stop theft during working hours. “The people who died were either asphyxiated or burned,” commented a firefighter. 17 were wounded. Moustapha Taouil of the Casablanca civil protection service said the blaze was triggered by an inadequatly maintained electric saw on the ground floor. The initial fire quickly engulfed all four storeys of the building.

The Rosamor factory was clearly operating unsafely, officials said. “It’s a building with a ground floor and three upper floors specialising in making furniture, therefore there were highly inflammable products,” said Taouil. “We confirmed during our examination that the owners of the premises failed to respect legal requirements for this kind of industry including staff training… the owner in contravention of the law, locked staff inside the plant apparently to prevent theft of raw material. It was this that prevented them getting out. The fire was caused by lack of proper maintenance of certain machines and electrical installations.” He said a short circuit on the ground floor, which was filled with power saws, triggered the disaster.

As a result of the investigatons, “The plant’s owner, Adil Moufarreh, and his son Abdelali Moufarreh, who was the manager, have been taken into custody after having been questioned by police,” said an official.

28-year-old factory employee Fadila Khadija said “There was no emergency exit, the extinguishers were empty and the working conditions were difficult.” One source said that windows were also unusable as they were covered with iron bars. 20-year-old survivor Omar Elaaz said “I was working on the first floor as an upholsterer. The smoke came up from the ground floor where the foam rubber, wood and glue are stored. I used a gas bottle to break the wire mesh that protects every window.” 31-year-old upholsterer Hakim Hakki told of his own lucky escape and its effect on him from hospital: “I jumped from the third floor with four other colleagues while the women, who didn’t dare to follow us, perished in the inferno. God saved me but I’ll never forget those who died.”

The father of deceased 19-year-old Abdelazziz Darif said his son was paid 250 dirhams (20 euro/31 US dollars) per week and did not have social insurance.

The steps you need to know to choose your perfect online broker

There are several steps attached to choosing the right online broker which requires some due diligence to get the most for your money and investment:

Step 1: List down what you need

Before diving into this pool of brokers you must analyse where you stand in terms of your experience. As a rookie, you will be looking for basic education resources, easy practices to trade, support staff and other methods to check the level of the platform but as an experienced investor, you might want to look at the condition of order options, the fixed-income securities and ability to trade derivatives, mutual funds and others. You need to be honest with yourself and keep refining your goals as you will face further questions in your journey. Some questions you might have to answer yourself are:

 • Are you looking for a full time investing experience daily or a long hold position?
 • What is your experiences and what kind of trades you wish to execute?
 • What are your goals and what are you choosing investing for?

Once you are clear with the solutions of these questions, you’ll yourself be able to distinguish between the platforms.

Step 2: Negation works well

Remember when in the MCQs, you didn’t know an answer so you removed the ones which seemed far-fetched and came down to 2 out of 4. Similarly, you can narrow down the brokers based on the services you are looking for. One should check out if the brokerage firm a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FIRA), and offers checking or saving accounts covered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). You should also question on their insurance policy, protection against fraud and the reviews of their current customers. Some other points to look at are:

 • Technology used to keep your account safe.
 • If the company selling your information (Beware of that)
 • What kinds of account does the broker offer beside the standard investment accounts?

Step 3: Figure out the Fees

A clear idea should be there in your mind when you have to pay a higher or a lower price for the same features on different platforms. Also, you would like to lose as little of your investment returns as possible to accounting fees and trading commissions. There are several charges attached so note these ones to compare and consider:

 • Fees for opening an account
 • The minimum amount of balance to be kept
 • Annual and monthly charges accompanied
 • The margin rates and the minimum loan amount
 • The factors on which trading commission depends
 • Commission rates for different securities
 • Are there any free or reduced priced trades?
 • What is the costing for the advisory services?

Step 4: The Platform is the Master

The access of online brokers requires everyone to have a fast processing interface which provides easy accessibility and have variety of tools. One must analyse all the platforms, their tools, their packages, features and how the trade is taken place on those platforms. Some questions you might ask yourself here are:

 • Do the platform allow to trade all types of securities?
 • Do you have a real time screening of the stock prices?
 • Can you set up watch list and alert for further news and notifications?
 • Kinds of orders that you can place
 • Your control over the whole trade transaction
 • And other features as available

Step 5: Education Component

Consider yourself who wants to inquire and know about certain terms, will you keep on switching between tabs or want them altogether at one place? User-friendly is one thing but to search the broker’s platform to know about the educational offerings, the source of the information, the accessibility of the information, and the beginner’s guide to investing.

Step 6: The Ease of depositing and Withdrawing Funds

To transact is to deposit and withdraw and you should compare the modes through which you can deposit your money, the duration for your deposited funds to settle, the regular checks of the funds, the duration for your sale of investments to settle and the ease to withdraw funds.

Step 7: Customer Service

Till this point, you might have made your choice but if you still not there, you might consider during and after services of the online broker. See if they are easily available around the clock or not is there any reporting system if you are into any troubles or an automated number for general queries.

Should you prefer them in the long run?

With the progress, there lies some insecurities as well. To trust, it needs care and you need to be careful to avoid any scammers out there. There are many online broking platforms out there but you must be aware not to get trapped in the web of low price or additional features. Check the authenticity because it’s your money after all.

Conclusion

Since we know all about the online broking system and how to select the best one for us, what are you waiting for? It is time for you to select the best of the best and invest in the company of your profitable choice. Keep refining your market knowledge with legal, financial and daily news where you get to learn through which you earn. For any further doubts or queries, if your online stock broker is not able to provide it, you know the right place to come to.

Icelandic government passes Icesave deal; €12,000 debt per citizen

Thursday, December 31, 2009

The Icelandic Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and her coalition government narrowly escaped a commitment to resign as a €3.8 billion bill to repay British and Dutch savers following the collapse of Icesave online banking passed. The vote margin was only three votes.

Only a matter of hours before the anticipated final vote, Wikileaks announced the disclosure of one of 23 documents suppressed by the Icelandic Minister of Finance: an apparent legal summary of meetings between Icelandic and EU representatives held in Brussels in November 2008. The leaked document discusses the then-assessed liabilities of Iceland at 60% of GDP, considerably higher than the reported 40% which repaying Icesave deposit holders entails.

Amongst the other details in the report is emphasis of the deep-seated anger of the Icelandic people at the situation around the financial collapse, particularly the UK’s use of anti-terrorism legislation in its approach to the country’s banks. Iceland’s interpretation of the situation, and its financial treaty obligations with the EU, considered foreign deposits lost through force majeure. All 27 EU members disagreed with Iceland’s interpretation and Peter Mandelson, although he resigned from the Barroso Commission in October, presented the legal position that Iceland could not pass legislation that did not ensure treaty-mandated minimum balance returns from failed Icelandic banks.

Leaked private communication from Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, Iceland’s then-foreign minister, compared the potential liabilities the country faced with the reparations imposed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles in the wake of World War I.

Three banks failed in the financial crisis: Kaupthing, Glitnir, and Landsbanki. As the list of creditors emerged it was found that, among others, UK councils had around £900 million with the banks. Landsbanki agreed to repay the majority of funds held, giving council depositors priority status. Approximately £200 million on deposit with Glitnir is at-risk; the bank has stated the councils will be treated equally with all other creditors seeing them likely to only recover 30% of the amount Glitnir held.

Kaupthing faces other difficulties. The UK’s Serious Fraud Office began an investigation earlier this month into the bank’s UK activities. At issue are allegations savers were misled into selecting one particular account type, plus suspicious financial activity suggesting substantial amounts were moved out of the bank in the days prior to its collapse.

At present, UK councils have received little more than ten percent of their over £900 million deposits. They are among over 8,500 creditors claiming a staggering total of £20 billion. The largest single claimant is the British Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund seeking €5 billion, and, of some note, Formula One racing team Williams claiming around £10 million in unpaid sponsorship from Glitnir who took on the liability from the Icelandic buyers of Hamleys.

This article is a featured article. It is considered one of the best works of the Wikinews community. See Wikinews:Featured articles for more information.

Debt to 84% government-owned Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) by Glitnir stands at around £500 million; much of the actual debt written off in 2008 as RBS posted £24 billion losses. Further write-offs by the bank are expected to total less than £50 million.

Icelanders resented the discovery that fifteen senior ex-employees of Landsbanki claim €14 million between them, including a single claim of €2.7 million. Suspicion exists that the banks arranged substantial interest-free loans for various of their shareholders and executives.

Today’s announcement of the Icelandic government’s agreement to pay out €3.8 billion keeps their application for EU membership on-track, although each one of the country’s 320,000 citizens effectively faces a €12,000 debt.

Ex-US soldier sentenced to life in prison for Iraqi teen rape, four murders

Saturday, September 5, 2009

A former US soldier has been sentenced to life in prison for raping a teen and murdering her and her family while on active duty in Iraq. The jury failed to reach the unanimous verdict required for the death penalty sought by the prosecution.

[…] if I had never gone to Iraq I would never have got caught up in anything like this

According to testimony given by two soldiers, Steven Dale Green was part of a group who decided they wanted to rape a girl they had seen walking through her village, 14-year-old Abeer Qassim al-Janabi. They walked to her house while disguised as insurgents and separated her from her parents and younger sister.

Green then shot dead Abeer’s family while two other soldiers raped the girl. He then raped her himself while she wept before covering her face with a pillow and fatally shooting her. The gang then covered her naked body with a blanket soaked in kerosene, using a lighter to start a fire before walking 200 yards to a nearby checkpoint where they cooked a meal.

Green had already been discharged from the army when his crimes were discovered. He had previously spoken of a desire to murder Iraqi civilians and his defence argued he should never have been allowed to return to duty. A nurse had decided he would not carry out his desires. A US civilian court tried him, the first such prosecution of a soldier under a law allowing servicemen to be charged with crimes carried out abroad.

The judge described his actions as “unimaginable, unjustified and inexcusable” and sentenced him to five consecutive life sentences without possibility of parole. Four others had already been sentenced. Three are all serving life with parole after ten years, and a fourth who acted as a lookout is serving a 27-month sentence.

It took months for the offences to be discovered, even though Green had quickly confessed to a sergeant. Soldiers speaking to stress counsellors talked of the crimes after the abduction and murders of two other soldiers. When news of the soldiers’ actions broke, insurgents killed several American servicemen in revenge.

The prosecution described Green as “criminal and perverse” while the defence called him a “broken warrior.” Green said he was acting upon orders from former Specialist Paul Cortez, another of the attackers, and told the court “Y’all can act like I’m a psychopath or a sexual predator or whatever. But if I had never gone to Iraq I would never have got caught up in anything like this.”

What To Consider When Looking At Used Cars For Sale}

What To Consider When Looking At Used Cars For Sale

by

Vikram Kumar

Are you looking for the best priced used cars for sale? If so you must understand that this process must not be taken lightly. You must take your time when seeking out used cars for sale and must focus on many elements to ensure that you are making an educated purchase. You dont want to end up spending money on a used car and then discovering that it has multiple issues that are going to require you to spend major money in order to get them corrected.

The first thing that you must do before you head out and begin looking at used cars for sale is to set yourself a strict budget. You must come up with a number that you are working with and stick with this number no matter how tempted you may be to spend a little more. You want to set a budget that you can work with and manage in advance. That way you can truly narrow down your options when it comes to what type of used cars for sale that you can actually afford.

You will most likely have a model or style of car that you want to acquire. However, you must be realistic as to what you are actually going to be able to afford and may have to settle during the process. Though this may cause you some frustration there is no way around this. If you are purchasing a used car you are just going to have to settle for a vehicle that is nice looking and most importantly that runs well. It may not be your dream car but in the end you simply need it to get from point A to point B. Dont go into this process with high expectations thinking otherwise.

The next thing and perhaps the most important area to focus on is how the vehicle runs. When you check out a used car for the first time you will want to take notice of how the body of the car looks. You will want to open all the doors and check out the interior and features of the car. You will also want to look under the hood. Additionally, if you are not a car expert you should also hire or get a friend that knows about cars to come with you to carry out such an inspection.

Once the car has been inspected on the inside and outside you should then test drive the car. This is very important. You want to determine how the car drives and pay attention to any squeaks or shakes that the car makes. This can assist you in determining how well the car was maintained and may show you if the buyer is attempting to hide something from you when it comes to how the car drives.

Finally be certain to determine how many miles the car has and whether or not it has been in any accidents.

Keep these ideas in mind and you will have no problem finding an excellent used car.
